Community Church

Leisure World Community Church makes monthly food donations to We Care, a nonprofit organization that pools the resources of the community to meet the emergency needs of families and individuals such as rental assistance, utility assistance, therapy services, food, personal care items, and more. The church thanks the LW community for its continuing support of this ministry. The church’s Missions Team reports that the April donations were so generous that three people had to make two trips to transport all the food.

“Who was I that I could hinder God?”

This is the question Peter asks the apostles and believers in Judea when they question Peter about breaking Jewish law to eat with Gentiles. Peter’s question is a good question for the church to ask repeatedly over the centuries as it encumbers the work of God with partiality. Community Church will look at what it means to follow God unhindered.

Community Church is a place where everyone is welcome, provided they are willing to be part of the community. It does not welcome hate, bigotry, sexism, or homophobia. All are welcome who are welcoming to all.

Residents are invited to come to “Coffee with the Pastor” on Thursdays at 10 a.m. This is an informal opportunity for those who want to meet Pastor Johan Dodge.

Community Church holds worship services on Sunday mornings at 9:50 at 14000 Church Place near St. Andrews Gate. All are welcome.
