Assembly of God

Pastor Chuck Franco of Leisure World Assembly of God will begin a two-part series from Philippians 3:1-17 on Sunday, May 18, titled “Follow Me.” Paul is writing to the early church in Philippi from a prison cell, encouraging them to emulate his own demonstration of faith and joy, even in his present confinement. Paul tells the church to live in unity, stresses the importance of humility and maintaining hope, even though suffering. Though maybe not in a literal prison cell, modern-day disciples are uplifted by the message of this letter of instruction and affection.

The Bible study class will begin a new set of lessons in the Essentials of Faith Series, discussing “What is the Church?” on Wednesday, May 21, at 10 a.m. The video sessions are presented by Pastor and teacher Derwin Gray. The first lesson is titled “How Did the Church Start?” More than a building or a gathering of like-minded people, the church’s identity, mission and purpose will be revealed over the next five weeks.

Leisure World Assembly of God meets on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The Wednesday Bible study meets at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The Hymn Sing is held on the fourth Sunday evening of the month, at 6 p.m., in the Clubhouse 3 Lobby.
