LW POOL CLUB

The LW Pool Club held its monthly tournament on April 26. There were 11, two-person teams playing 369 nine-ball. Each team played six games. Partners alternated shots and received one point for making the three ball, two points for the six, and three points for the nine. Each game a team could score anywhere from 0-6 points.

After four rounds, Paul Shellenberger and Susan Dodson led with 18 points. Shellenberger and Dodson were scoreless in their first game but made all six points in their next three games. Barrie Brideau and Jane Westall trailed by one point with 17 points.

After the sixth and final round Brideau and Westall came in first with 23 points. Shellenberger and Dodson ended up tied for second place with Gary Snow and Cornel Sneekes with 22 points. Snow and Sneekes won second place in a one game playoff.

This was the very first tournament Westall had ever played in, and she came in first, which is inspirational for others who have not played in one of the club’s tournaments before.

The club’s next tournament will be on Saturday, May 24, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 2. It will be a pool-a-thon of four different pool games: eight-ball, nine-ball, one pocket and straight pool.
