Beginning May 7, individuals without REAL ID-compliant identification will not be able to board domestic flights or enter secure federal facilities.

Acceptable forms of identification will include REAL IDs, U.S. passports, passport cards and military IDs.

To apply for a REAL ID, visit the Department of Motor Vehicles website at REALID. dmv.ca.gov.

Applicants must provide proof of identity (such as a passport, birth certificate or permanent resident card) and two different printed documents that show the person’s California mailing address. Examples of state residency documents include utility bills, bank records, insurance documents, medical records, rental agreements or property tax bills or statements.
