Free Online Learning for Older Adults

The Orange Countysponsored virtual learning platform for older adults, GetSetUp, is set to come to an end by August. After that, the charge will be $20 a month, including programs designed for older adults.

In the meantime, people can still access it for free. GetSetUp offers 5,000 classes on technology, cybersecurity, fitness, health and wellness, financial planning, art, travel, chronic disease management, social connection and more. The platform also offers multilingual classes. It currently serves five million learners and is supported by 100 partnerships.

The Older Adult Advisory Commission is likely to recommend that the Board of Supervisors budget continue to pay for the platform. To sign up, visit www.officeonaging. ocgov.com, click on resources and then select GetSetUp.
