Places to dispose of furniture

Residents may dispose of furniture, mattresses and general bulk items at the 1.8-area site adjacent to the Community Gardens off Nassau Drive where there are large recycling containers available for residents to use for bulky discards. Residents should place refuse in the bins. Residents should not dispose of large items in their Mutual carport bins as trash haulers will not remove them and Mutuals have to pay more to dispose of them. These added costs can impact Mutual assessments.

The Salvation Army accepts donations of small to medium furniture and household goods. Donations must be brought to the trucks, which are available at the LW Amphitheater on the second Saturday of every other month, June, August and December, from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
