Congregation Sholom

On Friday, March 28, Congregation Sholom will host a potluck dinner prior to services in Clubhouse 3, Room 9, at 5 p.m. A sign up sheet has been sent to members. Services conducted by Rabbi Mike Mymon will begin following the dinner at 6:30 p.m. and will also be available on Zoom. Rabbi Mymon will also lead the hybrid service on Saturday, March 29, in Clubhouse 3, Room 9, and on Zoom at 10 a.m. To receive a Zoom invitation call or text Jeff Sacks at 714-642-0122.

Pekudei (Accountings Of) is the final Torah reading in the Book of Exodus. It describes the making of priestly garments worn in the Mishkan (Tabernacle) and the completion of its construction. At God’s command, Moses erects the Mishkan and puts its vessels in place, and God’s presence fills the Mishkan.

Congregation Sholom hosts its annual Passover Seder and meal on Saturday, April 12 at 5.30 p.m. in Clubhouse 2. Blueberry Hill will cater and the Seder will be conducted by Rabbi Mymon.

Dinner choice for the Seder will be mango chutney brisket, roast chicken, or a vegetarian plate, plus Matzo ball soup, Gefilte fish salad, potatoes, lemonade, dessert and Passover wine.

The dinner will be $49 per person for members and $59 for non-members. Those interested must RSVP by March 31 with their dinner choice to Murray Pollack by emailing murrjet@yahoo.com or calling 562-331-3949.

Members of Congregation Sholom can invite one non-member to join the Seder at the member price. Mail checks in advance to Congregation Sholom, P.O. Box 2901, Seal Beach, CA 90740.

Congregation Sholom has been serving Leisure World since 1962. It offers a traditional Jewish service in person and online.
