Assembly of God

People usually find it easy to praise God when things are going well. It much more difficult to praise God when life is hard, and the challenges are overwhelming.

Life is a series of hills and valleys. The hilltop, where the air is clear and troubles are far away, represent the times when people of faith feel close to God and in the center of his will, protected by his hand. Inevitably, on the other side of the hilltop, is a valley. That’s just how the laws of nature work. That principle also applies to spiritual life.

Those who possess a steadfast relationship with God know that the same God who is with them on the hilltop is just as close in the valley, where burdens, care, sickness and loss seem to block out God’s presence. Pastor Chuck Franco will bring a sermon titled “The God of the Valley,” from Psalm 23:4 and 1 Kings 20:23-28 to the members of LW Assembly of God on Sunday, March 30, at 10:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.

The Wednesday Bible study will begin a new study in the Essentials of Faith series on April 2. The next six sessions will answer the question, “Why Do We Need the Bible?” with Lisa Harper. The first session looks more deeply into “What Is the Bible?”

The hallmark of these studies is a simple question, the answers to which lead students to deeper understanding and deeper questions, leading to a deeper, more fulfilling walk with God. The beginning of this series is a great time to join the class. Leisure World Assembly of God meets on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.
