LW Men’s Golf Club

Nine golfers from the Leisure World men’s golf league met at the David L. Baker Executive Golf Course in Fountain Valley on Feb. 28.

With the decent weather, and good course conditions, the golfers attacked the course, and every player scored net well under par. There were nine birdies: three by Sam Choi, two by Fujio Norihiro and Jim Goltra, and one each by Gary Stivers, and Bob Munn.

A flight winners: Choi, 13 under par, first place; Norihiro 10 under, second; Stivers,9 under, third; Dave LaCascia, 6 under, fourth; Goltra, 5 under, fifth; Chris Lankford and Clay Fischer, 4 under, sixth.

B flight winners: Munn, 6 under par, first place; Ron Jackson, 5 under, second.

Closest to the pin on the par-3 third hole was Goltra and on the 110-yard par-3 12th hole was Munn. Norihiro and Choi tied for fewest putts in the A and Jackson had fewest in the B.

Twelve golfers met at the Willowick Golf Course in Santa Ana on March 3. Scores were better than expected with a tie for best gross score by LaCascia and Lankford.

A flight players included Fujio Norihiro, Jae Choi, Dave LaCascia, Seon Kim, Clay Fischer, Sam Choi, Jim Goltra and Chris Lankford. Each golfer shot net under par and LaCascia had fewest putts and Goltra had the lone birdie.

B flight players included Bob Munn, Duke Park, Zack and Andrew competed. Each player shot net under par and Park had the fewest putts in the flight.

Eight golfers encountered a wet Meadowlark Golf Course in Huntington Beach on March 6. The golfers played Thursday as their normal Friday round was moved due to a previously scheduled full course tournament.

Players included Jim Goltra, Clay Fischer, Sam Choi, Jae Choi, Fujio Norihiro, Larry Hillhouse, Duke Park and Chris Lankford. Each golfer shot net under par. Sam Choi had fewest putts, and Lankford had the lone birdie. Best gross score for the round was Fischer.

The Monday and Friday golf leagues play at four local courses. Advance league reservations are required.
