Swing dancing and live jazz events held on Tuesdays
QUEEN MARY EVENTS
All are welcome to enjoy free live music and swing dancing every Tuesday aboard the historic Queen Mary from 4-8 p.m.
Resident band Ashley Anne and the Carnations perform1920s-1960s jazz, swing, rock ‘n’ roll, bossa novas, latin and more for a large crowd of music aficionados and dancers.
The event is free with RSVP online at https:// www.queenmary.com/whatsondeck.aspx. Free beginning swing dance lessons are held every week at 6:30 p.m.
Leisure Worlders may recognize Ashely Anne and her band members, as they’re dancers who’ve attended Velvetones shows for many years, as well as performed at past doo wop shows in the community. Several LW residents are also regulars at the Queen Mary.
In addition to their presence in Leisure World, Ashley Anne and the Carnations are also the resident band at The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, and have performed all over Southern California, including Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, Disneyland’s Club 33, Chateau Marmont and many historic jazz and dance venues.
