Leisure World residents seeking more information about the Democratic Club are invited to attend its informal get-together Lunch Bunch for new members and friends on Wednesday, March 5. For more information, contact Debbie Wrathall at debbiewrathall@mac.com.
The club’s Voter Education session will be held March 19 in Clubhouse 3, Room 3, at 1 p.m. and will feature a discussion on how to research news on the internet. The presentation will be facilitated by club board member Robert Cohen. Advance registration is not required. Contact Beverly Bender at Beverleybender@gmail.com for more information.
The next LW Democratic Club membership meeting will be on Wednesday, March 26, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1:30 p.m. All LW Democrats and supporters are invited to attend in person or join the meeting by Zoom.
For information on how to join by zoom, email the club at lwsbdemocraticclub@gmail. com.
The keynote speaker for the March membership meeting will be Laura Oatman, who will represent the INDIVISABLE. Long-term club members will remember Oatman as the candidate who dropped out of the 2018 Democratic primary race for California’s 48th Congressional District support fellow candidate Harley Rouda.
Rouda went on to defeat Congressman Dana Rohrabacher in that year’s general election. Oatman then became the district director for Rouda, who at the time represented coastal Orange County from Seal Beach to Laguna Niguel.
The club has a new important “third rail” source of information available to all LW Democratic Club members and supporters. For information on how to join this new Facebook group, email the coordinator Dan Larkin at danolark@gmail.com.
The SBLW Democratic Club believes that facts and the truth matter. Everything appearing in the weekly articles or the twicea- month newsletters has been fact-checked to the fullest extent possible. Suggestions for content are always welcomed.
For more in-depth political reporting, Democrats and supporters are invited to subscribe to the club’s free e-newsletter by emailing editor Mary Larson at mlarson.telfords@gmail.com.
People interested in the newsletter should provide their full contact information, including name, mail address, phone number, email address, and party affiliation in the request.
