Wa-Rite
Wa-Rite is a female-only club that meets on Friday mornings from 9-10 in Clubhouse 3, Room 1. Weigh-ins are from 8-8:45. Dues are $10 a year, plus 10 cents upon signing in. LW ID cards must be shown. Women who want support on their weight-loss journey and to meet like-minded people are welcome to stop by no later than 8:15 to weigh-in and complete the registration paperwork.
At the Jan. 31 meeting, members learned that the club lost a total of 11.5 pounds last week, with Shirley LaBrecque becoming the biggest loser of the week with 2-pound loss. When LaBrecque was asked how she lost the 2 pounds, she said doing the usual right things, plus eating a lot of cottage cheese helped her reach her goal.

Joyce Brannon The queen of January was Joyce Brannon with 4.5-pound loss. She also reached her shortterm goal.
The club lost a total of 76.5 pounds during the month of January. The biggest losers were: Melinda Lee, 44 pounds; Mary Kay Sherman, 7 pounds; Ruth Saldana, 6 pounds; and Joyce Brannon, 4.5 pounds. There were no members who attended every week last month with no gain.
The weekly food for thought was: “When we laugh at our problems, we’ll always have something to laugh about.”
