The GRF Board approved the project in July 2024 in keeping with the findings of a traffic study to improve safety features at the intersection. The plan is based on a 2022 traffic safety study and conforms to a separate traffic engineering study.

Upon the recommendation of the GRF Facilities Committee last summer, the board earmarked $347,691 from the reserve funds to employ Crosstown Electrical and Data, Inc., a Southern California-based electrical contractor that specializes in traffic signals and construction. The money is held in the reserve fund for this specific project and will not affect the capital fund or operating funds.

Work is expected to begin Feb. 24. Construction equipment will be staged in the Clubhouse 6 parking lot. Vehicle and pedestrian traffic may be impacted for short periods during construction. Residents are encouraged to use alternate routes.

Any anticipated closures will be announced on the marquee and on LW Live.

Once work is completed, the St. Andrews and Golden Rain intersection will feature protected left turn lanes.
