Presenter to discuss ‘sex in the garden,’ bus tickets on sale now
GARDEN CLUB
The Garden Club will meet Monday, Feb. 17, at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 2.
The always popular Elizabeth Butterfield will present a program on “Sex In The Garden,” an entertaining viewpoint of plant reproduction. With a plot in both the Leisure World and Edison Community Gardens, she has plenty of opportunity to observe and learn from the constant reproductive activity happening in her gardens.
Butterfield’s unique style of art and floral design reflects her passion for using a multitude of textures and mediums. She also enjoys instructing students, from which she gains inspiration.
Tickets for the club’s Feb. 24 trip to the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena will be on sale at the meeting. The bus can only hold 40 riders, so people are encouraged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible.
The art museum houses East Indian and Southeast Asian art, hundreds of European 14th-20th century paintings, plus a sculpture garden. Club members will dine at the Cheesecake Factory before entering the museum. The ticket includes only the bus and entrance fee. For more information, contact Elaine Lee at 714-365-9367.
The WE CARE table will be set up in the lobby for donations of non-perishable food items, gift cards and cash. All are welcome to attend. Coffee, tea and cookies will be served after the meeting.
