Woman’s Club to donate to Animal Care Center
THE WOMAN'S CLUB OF LEISURE WORLD
The Woman’s Club of Leisure World will meet on Tuesday, Feb. 4, in Clubhouse 2. The doors will open at 1 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 1:30.
This month, the club will donate to the Seal Beach Animal Care Center, a no-kill shelter for dogs and cats.
In addition to the check the Woman’s Club will present, members can make monetary donations (cash or check made out to the SB Animal Care Center), or gift cards from Amazon, PetSmart, Petco or Chewy.
Supplies that can be donated for cats include: Friskies canned cat food and kitten Fancy Feast pate; Purina One Sensitive Systems Dry Cat Food; Purina Dry Kitten Food; Advantage Flea treatment; Wheat Scoop cat litter; any clay unscented non-clumping litter; cardboard cat scratchers; Kuranda shelter beds.
Supplies that can be donated for dogs include: Science Diet canned dog food, adult, chicken flavor; dog toys, especially the ones that squeak or are for strong chewers; pill pockets; four foot and six-foot nylon dog leashes; and Kuranda shelter beds.
Rebecca Felix, who sings a variety of genres including Etta James, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Patsy Cline and Motown, will entertain. Her act includes a history of the song and artist along with props and costume changes. She received a standing ovation when she last performed for the Woman’s Club in June 2024.
