Queen crowned
LW FRENCH CLUB
The French Club meets the first and third Sundays of each month in Clubhouse 3, Room 4, from 2:30-4 p.m. The goal is to share conversations in French. There are no lessons. All are welcome to join and speak French with others.
On Jan. 19, the club celebrated the Epiphany by sharing a delicious galette des rois, which is flaky puff pastry layers with a center of almond cream filing. This 900-year-old tradition holds that the cake is “to draw the kings.” A porcelain figurine is hidden in the cake, and the person who finds the trinket in their slice becomes king or queen for the day. This year member Lucie Garabedian was crowned queen for the day. Vive la Reine!
