LWers may qualify for free energy efficiency upgrades


MULTIFAMILY ENERGY SAVINGS PROGRAM
The Energy Savings Assistance (ESA) Multifamily Energy Savings Program provides no-cost and reduced-cost energy efficiency upgrades and project assistance to eligible affordable multifamily properties and residents in California, including qualifying residents living in Leisure World, pending work approval by Mutuals.
Income-qualifying properties can receive no-cost energy assessments and technical assistance, in addition to:
• No-cost energy efficiency, appliance, and weatherization upgrades to residential units; and
• Qualifying energy efficiency and weatherization improvements to property common areas including community and laundry rooms, leasing offices, hallways, attics/walls, outdoor recreation areas, parking lots, and central heating and cooling systems.
These energy upgrades reduce energy costs and can improve the health, comfort and safety of affordable multifamily homes and common areas.
The program serves deed-restricted and non-deed-restricted properties in Southern California Edison (SCE) service territories, as well as others.
Program enrollment manager Leslie Diaz-Villavicencio is available to assist property owners, asset managers and facilities directors and residents enroll in and benefit from this program exclusively available for eligible income-qualified properties.
Those who qualify based on the eligibility requirements below should inform their Mutual that they would like to participate and benefit from the program. Approvals are currently pending on a Mutual- by-Mutual basis.
To receive no-cost improvements, individuals must meet the following requirements: • Be a resident who lives at a multifamily property.
• Have an active PG& E, SDG& E, SCE or SoCalGas service account.
• Meet at least one of the following requirements: 1. Your household participates in any of the following public assistance programs: Medicaid/Medi-Cal for Families A & B; CalFresh (otherwise known as food stamps or SNAP); Head Start Income Eligible (Tribal only); Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance; Woman Infants and Children (WIC); National School Lunch Program (NSLP); Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP); Supplemental Security Income (SSI); Cal-WORKS (TANF) or Tribal TANF.
2. Your household meets the following income limits: Single-person household, $37,650 annual income; two-person household, $51,100; three-person household: $64,550; four-person household, $78,000.
