Shuf. eboarders get pointers during Thursday training days

Rod Osgood began his special January Thursdays-only training so members who wish to participate can get extra pointers on whatever they want to work on. He reviewed basic rules during the first session held Jan. 9. Sixteen members showed up for advice and support. Osgood and other seasoned members he recruited to help will address serving, rules of the game, scoring, and other strategies for successful play.

Each team captain this year has been asked to recruit a cocaptain, which is a new role this year, and members on those teams have been encouraged to volunteer for those positions. A new plan for refreshments, served between the two games during league play, has also been developed and accepted.

Jan. 10 Friday morning league results: Team Sally prevailed over Team Shel 7-5. Sally Fowler was Team Sally’s allgame winner. Team Shel’s all-game winner was Eileen Kotechi. Team Carol and Team Patti tied 6-6. Team Carol’s all-game winner was Harold Morehead while Patty Peterson and Connie Terry captured all-game winner status for Team Patti.

Jan. 14 Tuesday evening league results: Team Bob and Team Harold tied it up 6-6. Team Bob’s all-game winner was Jesus Sosa. Linda Everson and Connie Terry were all-game winners for Team Harold. Team Sally upended Team Karen 8-4. Sally Fowler, Sandy Bush and Mary Lund were all game winners for Team Sally. Team Karen’s all-game winner was Mark Scott.
