GENEALOGY CLUB

The Genealogy Club will meet at 10 a.m., social time at 9:30, on Jan. 22 in Clubhouse 3, Room 1, for its annual bingo game. This is a fun way to learn genealogy terminology. People can bring unwanted gifts or white elephants for the prize table.

Membership renewal is $15, which includes use of the club library with computer access to Ancestry.com, Fold3 (military records) and Newspaper.com, which has recently added more than 600 newspapers from 20 states and six countries, including Australia, Canada, England, Wales, Papua New Guinea, and the Philipines to its inventory.

Club dues also cover supplies, computer upgrades and speaker fees They are now payable for 2025. Articles and information for the next newsletter deadline is the 25th of the previous month.

Club Calendar 2025

• Jan. 22: General meeting with bingo at 10 a.m.

• Feb. 26: General meeting at 10 a.m.

• March 26: General meeting at 10 a.m.

• April 23: General meeting at 10 a.m.

• May 28: General meeting at 10 a.m.

• June: Annual picnic/potluck. • July: No meeting.

• August: No meeting.

• Sept. 24: General meeting at 10 a.m.

• Oct. 22: General meeting at 10 a.m.

• November: No meeting.

• December: No meeting, annual holiday luncheon. Theme Thursdays are held on Thursdays from 1:30-2 p.m. in the Genealogy Library, which are mini learning sessions and/or discussions on Thursdays.

Library hours may vary due to volunteer availability. It is currently open Monday-Friday from 1-4 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; closed Sundays.
