Congregation Sholom

On Friday, Jan. 10, Congregation Sholom will hold services on Zoom with Rabbi Mike Mymon at 6:30 p.m. An oneg will follow services. Rabbi Mymon will also lead the hybrid service on Saturday, Jan. 11, in Clubhouse 3, Room 9, and on Zoom at 10 a.m.

Saturday’s Torah reading will be Vayechi from Genesis. Vayechi (He Lived) is the final Torah portion in the Book of Genesis. It opens as Jacob prepares for his death, making his son Joseph swear to bury him in the Cave of Machpelah. Jacob blesses Joseph’s two sons and his own 12 sons and then dies. Jacob’s sons bury him. The portion ends with Joseph’s death.

Congregation Sholom will hold an after-Hanukkah indoor yard and bake sale on Jan. 23, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 1 p.m. Congregation Sholom can only accept items in good and working condition. Bake sale items can be homemade or store bought. Clothes in good condition are welcome.

Local pickup is available, people can arrive at noon to drop off their donations on Jan. 23 in Clubhouse 3, Room 2.

Congregation Sholom has been serving Leisure World since 1962. It offers a traditional Jewish service in person and online.
