Art League announces competition winners

The Art League met Nov. 12 in Clubhouse 4. The guest artist and judge was Barbara Simundza, a retired art teacher, past president of the Art League, and self proclaimed “selfish” artist because she does not sell her works but donates them to organizations whose causes align with her.

Terese Smith won best of show. Vicky Mayhew won the popular vote. In the masters category, Patti Killian won first place; Alice Sioson, second; Carol Levine, third. In the advanced category, Patti Killian won first place. In the intermediate category, Judy Sherratt won first place; Marion Higgins, second; Allyn Constant, third. In the 3D/ crafts category, Rosie Grogan won first place; Alice Sioson, second; Allyn Constant, third; Elizabeth Kennedy, honorable mention. There will be no regular meeting in December. Meetings will resume Jan. 14.
