First Christian Church

First Christian Church of Leisure World teaches from God’s word, the Holy Bible verse by verse. It is a friendly church that welcomes all visitors to join in worship and explore God’s word together, “That we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine” Romans 1:12.

Pastors Message

Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways,’ says the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.’” God works in mysterious ways. He brings blessings, even in failure. Genesis 13:2 states that Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold. He was humiliated and sent away because of his lie concerning his wife, Sarai; yet, Pharaoh spared him and allowed Abram and his brother Lot to return to the promised land. God had made a covenant with Abram, and despite Abram’s frailties, shortcomings and weakness, God used Abram in a mighty way.

Weekend Services

Sunday services are traditional services from 9:30 a.m.10:45 p.m. with hymnal music led by Janet Ray and Pat Kogak at the piano. Pat will also sing a special solo.

Saturday services are more contemporary with Gregory Black leading worship with guitar accompaniment. The service is held from 9:30-10:45 a.m.

Midweek Studies

Melli Herrera leads the Women’s Bible Study on Mondays from 10:30-11:45 a.m.

Pastor Gary Whitlatch leads the Tuesday Bible study group from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

The Thursday Bible study group, led by Elder Jack Frost, meets from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Pastor Bruce Humes leads the prayer and Bible study group on Fridays from 6-7 p.m.

All residents are welcome to join any of the studies.
