Table Tennis Club
On Jan. 10, the Table Tennis Club had an orientation for free table tennis lessons. There was lots of interest with 55 members in attendance. During the orientation, club President K.C. Park provided an overview of the lessons, while Vice President John Lee, assessed each member’s skills and provided recommendations for lesson levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). K.C. started lessons on Jan. 11. Lessons go from 5:30-8:20 p.m., Monday through Friday. 23 members signed up for K.C.’s classes and 13 members were assigned to John Lee.
Club Treasurer Yong Pin Choe began taking membership dues on Dec. 23. The club had a total of 114 members as of Jan. 10. The group’s strong membership shows that Leisure World residents are interested in table tennis and they enjoy playing the active sport.
On Feb. 4, the club will host another table tennis tournament. Club members with February birthdays will be recognized at this meeting. For information about club activities, call K.C. Park at 714-204-2848 or email park.keechul@sbcglobal.net. —K.C. Park
