Pathways and the Golden Age Foundation reach out during the holidays
The Golden Age Foundation (GAF) and Pathways teamed up to purchase, prepare and deliver over 100 holiday treat baskets to Leisure World residents this week. It was important for the groups to reach out to neighbors over the holiday season to share love and friendship.
Pathways is one of the community- based, 501(c)(3) nonprofits that the GAF financially supports. Pathways’ mission is “to provide compassionate care to families living with illness and loss.” It achieves its mission through three core programs that make up its Circle of Care: 1. Empowering older adults to find solutions to help them continue to live safely and independently at home for as long as possible.
2. Hospice Care for patients and their families experiencing terminal illness.
3. Bereavement counseling and support for spouses and family members in grief.
Residents and families who are interested in the program or need assistance getting connected to the right resources can call Pathways Program Manager Tammie Ottenad at 562-531-3031.
Pathways is also looking for volunteers who would want to connect with other people living in Leisure World and provide a helping hand. Call Ottenad For more information on how to get started volunteering.
Residents can also reach out Member Resources and Assistance Liaison Roberta Ashart for more information on resources available to them.
