LW Korean Community Church

Leisure World Korean Community Church (LWKCC), led by Senior Pastor Young-Yong Jang, held a Thanksgiving praise team competion after its worship service on Nov. 20.

Pastor Yong Jang-yeong gave a sermon titled “Let’s be Thankful Anyway” during the service. The choir sung “Let Us Give Thanks and Praise to the Lord.”

The male choir, comprised of Lee Hyeon-jun, Kim Yongjoong, Yoo Jun-yu, Lee Kun-soo, Lee Seong-nam, Lee Changgeon sang “Ah, Eun-hye” and “Ga to the Field Farmer.”

The Thanksgiving dinner, prepared by each team member, was held in the fellowship room, and the Thanksgiving praise team competition was held in the sanctuary for the first time in three years.

Pastor Yong Jang-young took over as moderator, and nine teams put on performances with praise music, dancing and various musical instruments.

The Joy family (team leader: Kim Myung-soon, vice team leader: Grace E, Park Se-ja) secured the first place prize by singing “My Eternal Company” and “A Confession of Gratitude.”

Second place in the competition was awarded to the Grace family (team leader: Yoonja Lee, vice team leader: Youngmi Kim B) who sang “Ah, that’s True.”

The Peace family won third place (team leader: Hwang Kyung, vice team leader: Seo Hyun Sook) who sang “Peace like a River.”

Steve Jung, who appeared as a special guest, played alto saxophone to “God’s Grace,” and “You Raise Me Up.”

LWKCC is a nesting church of community churches located in Leisure World. Services are held every Sunday at 11:50 in the temple.

The morning prayer meeting is held every Tuesday-Saturday at 6 a.m. After the Sunday service and Saturday prayer meeting, there is a time for food in the fellowship room.
