Shuffleboard Club Shuffleboard Club

The LW Shuffleboard Club goal is to provide something for everyone. The club schedules Tuesday evening and Friday morning competitive league play, open-play practice times, as well as at least one social event every month. Throughout October, the club met an all-time attendance record, with 319 people participating in some activity at the Courts Building.

Thirty-two Shuffleboard Club members and their guests enjoyed a spooky good time at the annual Halloween party on Oct. 27, with more than half wearing a costume or some other Halloween paraphernalia.

After enjoying potluck snacks, the club played two games of “Lay It on the Line”— coordinated by Roger and Carolyn Bennett, Mutual 7—with the winning teams sharing in the pool of money that the $1 participation fee created.

On Oct. 28, the morning league played its games and then 16 members met for the club’s monthly “Last Friday” luncheon coordinated by Ellie West, Mutual 8.

The club’s first training clinic—at least since before the pandemic—on Oct. 29 hosted 24 members and visitors who joined together to give everyone a chance to understand what the LW Shuffleboard Club is all about. Even some of the first-time visitors were readily scoring big numbers by noon and planning to return to officially join the club. Three new members have already joined.

League Play Reports:

The Tuesday Evening League completed its fifth night of the fall season on Nov. 1.
