Scrabble Club
The Leisure World Scrabble Club met on all four Wednesdays in July. The members combined for 46 scores above 300; three of them were above 400.There were 32 bingos (i.e. the use of all seven tiles in one move).
Bob Ruderman accounted for 11 of the scores above 300 and 17 bingos. Two of his scores were above 400, including a 475. He also had a score of 287 in a three-way game (equivalent to a 430 in a two-way game).
Suthy Edgar had the highest score of 497. She had five other scores above 300 and nine bingos. In addition, she had a 271 in a three-way game (equivalent to a 407 in a two-way game).
Diane Seeger had nine scores above 300, one bingo, and a high score of 363. Club President Maria Giegerich posted totals higher than 300 six times, two bingos, and a best score of 317. Larry Edgar had five games over 300, three bingos, and a high score of 386. Marilyn Moody topped 300 four times. Her best score was a 322. Wanda Bemben bested 300 three times, with a high score of 356. Sylvia Makus and Sue Ann Gass each scored above 300 once, with respective totals of 319 and 311.
The club meets on Wednesdays in Clubhouse 3, Room 5, from 1-4 p.m. New members are welcome.
