Congregation Sholom

Congregation Sholom will hold services with Rabbi Eric Dangott on Friday, May 13, via Zoom at 6:30 p.m. Rabbi Mike Mymon will lead hybrid services in Clubhouse 3, Room 9, and via Zoom on Saturday, May 14, at 10 a.m. To receive a Zoom invitation, call or text Jeff Sacks at (714) 642-0122. This week’s Torah portion is Emor (say) from the book of Leviticus. Emor opens with laws regarding priestly behavior, working in the Mishkin (tabernacle), and consuming sacrifices and priestly foods. It describes the biblical holidays of Passover, Shavuot, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot and ends with a story about a blasphemer and his punishment. The book club will meet via Zoom on Wednesday, May 18, at 7 p.m. The group will read the story “Zeresh His Wife” from the book “After Abel,” by Michal Lemberger.
