All welcome to enjoy hula showcase on April 18 in CH 4


HUI O HULA—HAWAIIAN DANCE CLUB Hui O Hula, Leisure World’s Hawaiian dance club, invites everyone to Clubhouse 4 on Saturday, April 18, for an afternoon of music, hula and island-style fun at the club’s ho‘ike hula show and island rock dance party. The program begins at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1:30, and seating is first come, first served. There will be plenty of tables and chairs available

GOLDEN AGE FOUNDATION EVENTS Golden Age Foundation (GAF) will sponsor a multicultural performance on Saturday, July 18 at the Amphitheater to showcase the beauty of the diverse cultures in Leisure World. This is a new program sponsored by the GAF, and the GAF is looking for local talents to perform in a 90-minute show on the stage of the Amphitheater in costumes to showcase their specialties.

LEISURE WORLD LIONS CLUB The Produce Box Program, sponsored by the new Leisure World Lions Club, will distribute 12-pound boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables for $10 (cash only) on Friday, April 24, at Clubhouse 6 from 10 a.m.-noon. All residents, regardless of income are encouraged to participate. The Produce Box Program is held once a month on the fourth Friday. Box contents will vary

Dr. Davis Woodworth, PhD will speak to the Sunshine Club on Friday, April 17, in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, at 10 a.m. Woodworth is a project scientist in the Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), where he specializes in using brain imaging (MRI and PET) to study dementia. He earned his PhD in Biomedical Physics from UCLA, where he applied advanced imaging techniques

The Japanese American Club will meet on Saturday, April 18, at 11:30 a.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2. The bento will be chicken or salmon and will be $12 for members and $15 for non members; dessert contributions are welcome.
