All are invited to celebrate Independence Day at the Golden Rain Foundation’s annual Fourth of July event on Friday, July 4, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in and around Clubhouse 4. This year’s festivities will include a classic car show, the popular Rollin’ Thunder golf cart parade (see page 17), a craft club show and live entertainment featuring a Roy Orbison tribute performance. LIVE PERFORMANCE The Gong Club show in May ended with a Chicken Banana conga line. Led by Carol Gregurek, many found it hilarious to watch and participate in. There will be no Gong Club show in June. The club’s next show will be held Friday, July 25, in Clubhouse 2 at 7 p.m. The theme is “Christmas in July.” Club president Lu DeSantis encouraged people to arrive early to celebrate

The Coin Club meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 1 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 2, where members can have coins viewed and questions answered. The business meeting starts at 1:30, followed by an education session providing additional information about hobo nickels. Everyone is welcome. Light refreshments are provided, and several opportunities are available for socializing and group participation

PHOTO ARTS CLUB The Photo Arts Club will meet July 10 at 1:30 p.m. in Clubhouse 3, Room 9. People should bring their iPhone/Android and/ or camera. The photo assignment is water. Photographers should send their three best photos to benbenjamins@hotmail.com by July 7. People can also bring any photos of their choice to be displayed and commented on. Club members will vote on future assignments

SILVER FOX CLASSIC CAR CLUB The GRF and Silver Fox Classic Car Club will present Leisure World's 10th annual July 4th car show on July 4 at Clubhouse 4, a new location this year, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. All are welcome to stop by to enjoy an amazing array of automotive excellence.
